Anima Women’s Network Lenten Retreat

The Latin term for mercy, misericordia, means having a heart that is moved by pity and compassion. But misericordia is not just a response—it's also an outreach: an effective presence and a healing action. In calling the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis declared "Jesus Christ is the face of the Father's mercy. Mercy has become living and visible in Jesus of Nazareth, reaching its culmination in him." The graces available in this jubilee year give us the means to participate in this mystery, to become faces of mercy.
